Reduction motors are widely used in the reduction transmission mechanism of various general mechanical equipment such as metallurgy, mining, lifting, transportation, cement, construction, chemical industry, textile, printing and dyeing, pharmaceuticals, medical treatment, beauty, health massage, office supplies, etc.

According to the classification of motors, there are mainly the following categories.
(l) AC (including braked) motors: there are three-phase AC motors (12OW-30kw) and single-phase AC motors (1W-102W).
(2) DC (including braked) motors: there are electromagnetic (several watts to tens of kilowatts) and permanent magnet (several watts to several kilowatts) DC motors.
(3) AC (DC) servo motors.
(4) Various control motors and special motors.
2. According to the classification of gearbox transmission mode, there are mainly the following categories.
(l) Gear transmission: including helical gears, worm gears, bevel (bevel) gears, and planetary gears. Gear transmission is the most classic transmission, with a single-stage transmission efficiency of more than 98%, simple structure, high reliability, long life (design life of 20 years), and a large power range (up to 30kw).
(2) Cycloid pinwheel: Adopting the principle of planetary transmission, the cycloid wheel and the pinwheel mesh together to achieve multi-tooth simultaneous meshing transmission and avoid the possibility of broken teeth. It has a compact structure, small size, large transmission ratio, and a first-stage speed ratio of up to 1:119. The average efficiency of a single-stage transmission is more than 90%.
(3) Harmonic drive: The harmonic generator generates mechanical waves, and then the flexible gear is deformed to produce relative displacement between teeth to achieve the purpose of transmission. The advantages are that the single-stage transmission ratio can reach 1:50, the number of meshing teeth is large, the load-bearing capacity is high, the size is small, the weight is light, and the single-stage transmission efficiency is 10% to 90%. However, the flexible wheel is made into a thin-walled structure and works under repeated deformation, and the heat treatment requirements are high. It is generally used for medium and small power transmission, and the motor power is below 10kw.
